Medical
& Health
Participants need to be in good physical health and condition
to be able to fully enjoy a Galapagos expedition. To experience
the islands will involve the use of small boats and some landings
with wet and slippery lava rocks. The daily nature treks may
include walking on irregular and elevated terrain. Also, transferring
to and from the small boats (“pangas”) will require
some physical effort. If a passenger suffers from any medical
condition, we advise him/her to consult a physician about
joining a Galapagos Expedition.
Insurance
We strongly recommend travelers purchase trip cancellation
insurance (it will reimburse the cost of air tickets
and non-refundable trip payments). We also recommend the following
insurances: life, international medical, baggage loss &
delay, and insurance for personal belongings. Quasar Nautica
assumes no liability for lost or stolen personal belongings
during the length of the trip.
Vessel Replacement
Quasar Nautica reserves the right to substitute yachts
if deemed necessary (i.e. force majeure, mechanical
failures, not enough participants on a specific departure)
to any other yacht of our fleet (motor or sail).
If this is not possible, Quasar Nautica will make every effort
to find a similar category yacht as an alternative. If there
is a difference in price, it will be refunded accordingly.
If the travelers do not take this option, Quasar Nautica reserves
the right to cancel the trip upon a refund pro rata per cruise
night not used.

The Galapagos National Park
The Galapagos is a National Park and there are certain rules
and regulations that need to be followed. The naturalist guide
will inform passengers of these rules. The Galapagos National
Park and Quasar Nautica Expeditions, through the guide aboard,
reserves the right to deny any passenger to disembark on the
islands for the land visits, if any of these regulations are
ignored.
Special Diets
If any traveler has a special dietary requirement, he/she
must advise Quasar Nautica at least 30 days before the beginning
of the cruise. Every attempt will be made to accommodate special
requests, subject to the products’ availability in Ecuador.
Warning
Diving in the Galapagos Islands is advisable for very experienced
divers only. Cold waters, strong currents and surge may be
present. Travelers’ participation in water sports, snorkeling,
skin diving, kayaking, etc., are done under their own responsibility.
Responsibilities of Travelers
Travelers have some responsibilities to Quasar Nautica, crew
members, and other trip members. Travelers are responsible
for comprehending the conditions implied in the trip itinerary,
following normal social behavior patterns with fellow trip
members, observing all safety requirements, and acting in
an appropriate and respectful manner to crew members and all
personnel who will offer their services
